Berkshire Local Schools will expand our Early Childhood Center by adding a new building on the school campus for the 2024-2025 school year! With this addition, we are incorporating changes and expanding our preschool offerings to the community. The program is open to preschool students, ages 3-5, who are fully potty-trained. Berkshire will offer a Traditional Preschool program and two Special Education preschool offerings. Read below to learn more about each program.

Badger Explorers / Badger Cubs Overview
Special Education Services: Our special education PK programs "Badger Explorers" and "Badger Cubs" preschool offerings embody a richly layered approach, fostering immersive and hands-on experiences to optimize the growth and development of students with individualized education plans (IEP). Aligned with the Berkshire calendar and schedule, both programs deliver a curriculum of exceptional quality akin to that received by their peers in our general education preschool population. Moreover, they boast tailored classroom environments and educators equipped with specialized training to cater to diverse learning styles and stages of development.
Badger Explorers' classrooms include daily inclusion with regular education role models while the “Badger Cubs” is a more intense program which will include smaller class sizes, larger staff to student ratios, and planned excursions and educational opportunities that will include interaction with the district’s general education population.
