The Berkshire Local Schools will host a Gala Premiere Event for the Berkshire Graduating Class of 2020 at the Mayfield Road Drive-In Theater, 12100 State Route 322 on Wednesday, May 27th to view a special virtual commencement video beginning at 9 p.m. Each graduating senior will be given one (1) ticket for a passenger vehicle, due to state ordered social distancing requirements by current public health orders. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. for all ticketed participants who will be required to remain in their cars during the entire event and parked in every-other parking space to allow for social distancing. Once underway, in-car guests will have the opportunity to watch a pre-recorded video compilation of the graduating members of the Class of 2020 who will be taped in advance of the Gala Premiere Event clothed in cap and gown and walking  across the stage at Berkshire High School. The video compilation will also feature separately taped speeches by both Valedictorians, our Salutatorian and remarks from Superintendent Stoddard and Principal King. This taping will be conducted on May 11th and 12th courtesy of our amazing friends at G-TV, who will arrange the taped segments into the graduation ceremony video.

Mayfield Road Drive-In will be offering concessions via their concession window with social distancing guidelines to be enforced. Restrooms will be available and routinely sanitized throughout the evening.  The development of this plan has emerged from the dedication of the staff of the Berkshire Local Schools who very much desire to provide the Class of 2020 with a dignified commencement opportunity while abiding by the recent directives issued just last week by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Education. Please remain on the lookout for more information as we approach the May 27th Gala Premiere Event. Thank you for your continued support of the Berkshire Local Schools.
