As part of an ongoing emphasis on exposing students to technology and accessing resources from virtually anywhere, the Berkshire Local Schools recently deployed 10 Kajeet devices to each building in the District. Kajeet devices are filtered WiFi hot spots, called “smart spots” that use cellular signals to access the Internet and are being safely incorporated in the most technologically advanced schools across the country. These Kajeet devices help to empower students who may not have access to the Internet through other means. They are safe, secure and responsible resources that limit activity but broaden students’ educational horizons. Students of all ages and at all grades will have the opportunity to “sign out” the Kajeet devices for their supervised use. Ask your students about these state-of-the-art tools that help our Berkshire students remain connected to the global information highway.
