9/27/19 Varsity Sports Roundup

Berkshire Football

Berkshire was without senior running back Ryan Pennypacker, but that didn't slow down the Badgers offense. The Badgers scored 55 points en route to their fourth victory of the season.

Junior quarterback Jacob Brown was 4-6 for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Blake Jenkins had two of those touchdown catches and had 122 total yards receiving. The other TD was a 73 yard pass to Hunter Gifford.

On the ground, the Badgers had 29 carries by six different players. Donald Reis led the rushing attack with 10 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown. Other rushing touchdowns were scored by Evan McDermott and Chris Groudle.

Defensively, the Badgers forced five turnovers. Andy McKinney recovered a fumble for a touchdown, and Jenkins also had an interception returned for a touchdown.

At the half, senior Joe Barcikoski and senior Grace Lillibridge were named homecoming king and queen.

With the win, the Badgers improve to 4-1 for the first time since 2006. They travel Friday night to Rocky River for a matchup with Lutheran West HS.
