Several Ledgemont students had the special opportunity to have lunch or enjoy a car ride with members of local law enforcement during the Week of May 20, 2019, courtesy of the school’s annual Parent Teacher Committee Auction. The students fulfilled the prizes which were won during a bidding competition at the April fundraiser. Sergeant Mike Nappi from the Thompson Police Department treated two students with lunch from McDonald’s and the opportunity to check out the inside of a police cruiser, before joining the students during their scheduled recess time. Two other students won the opportunity to take a ride in a Geauga County Sheriff’s cruiser and were greeted by teachers and classmates as they returned to the school building! The annual Parent Teacher Committee Auction solicits donations from families and local businesses, and features raffle baskets donated by Ledgemont staff. The 2019 auction brought in over $5,000 which will be used to sponsor student field trips, classroom supply requests from teachers, guest speakers, field day activities, and other fun, educational events for students and families. Ledgemont Elementary would like to thank all participating families, businesses and staff for supporting the 2019 Parent Teacher Committee Auction.
