Berkshire Jr./Sr. High Winter Athletics Teams Earns High Marks!

In addition to the academic and classroom accolades that are often reported to the community, the Berkshire Local Schools’ winter athletic teams have recently experienced a great deal of success. The Berkshire High School Varsity Wrestling Team earned a 3rd place finish in the Valley Division of the Chagrin Valley Conference. Senior Jarrod Malkus (145 lbs.) and freshman Lucas Stoddard (170 lbs.) made a strong impression by becoming individual champions in their respective weight class. Other Berkshire students placing included James Klingman, who finished in 3rd place (106 lbs.), Josh Tribuzzo, who finished in 4th place (113 lbs.) and Ryan Ford, who finished in 5th place (195 lbs.). Congratulations to these top finishers and to Varsity Wrestling Coach Adam Lange. The Berkshire Jr. High Wrestling Team won the Chagrin Valley Conference Championship, and featured a number of individuals placements, including the following: Colin Hering, 2nd place (80 lbs.), Joey Romano, 1st place (86 lbs.), Jacob Landrus, 3rd place (92 lbs.), Johnny Heiden, 4th place (98 lbs.), Alex Munn, 1st place (110 lbs.), Logan Jezewski, 2nd place (116 lbs.), Josh Brown, 1st place (128 lbs.), Maddex Ciancibello, 4th place (134 lbs), Lucas Luoma, 2nd place (160 lbs.), Issac Hutchinson, 5th place (172 lbs.) and Aden Hatcher, 3rd place (205 lbs). Congratulations to the Jr. High Wrestling program and Coach Kris Cowgill on such a strong finish of the season. Finally, the Berkshire Boys 7th Grade Basketball team finished the regular season with 12 wins and 3 losses, good for Co-Champions in the regular season of the Chagrin Valley Conference. Congratulations to the team and Coach Pat Casseday.  In all, these winter athletics teams give student-athletes the opportunity to showcase valuable leadership, teamwork and communications skills which go hand-in-hand with the overall educational experience promoted in the Berkshire Local Schools.
