Berkshire Students Participate in GenYes Class

Berkshire Local Schools students are participating in the GenYes program, a learning opportunity that teaches students how to work through technology problems and resources throughout the District with staff and students, similar to a student-led IT help desk. The District is launching the initiative this year as a semester-long high school course. Students are outreaching to staff and their peers with a survey that helps give direction for their class projects, but also which helps individuals with their IT needs. They also worked really hard the last few weeks creating a video to introduce themselves to the District. They are truly taking a hands-on approach to helping others solve problems.

Students have created opportunities for those in need through Zoom, in-person and socially distanced meetings, and also videos with instructions to share on various topics. Congratulations to Miss Mele, who has helped advise the group and provide leadership as well. Way to go, everyone involved!
