The Berkshire Local Schools hosted a site visit of the new Prek-12 facility on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. USDA Ohio Rural Development State Director David L. Hall met with Superintendent John Stoddard, Treasurer Beth McCaffery and members of the Board of Education at the board office where he viewed videos featuring renderings of the new PreK-12 facility and athletic complex. Afterwards, the entire group walked over to the site of the new school facility to get a first-hand look at the ongoing construction process. Mr. Hall came away extremely impressed with the video renderings and the progression of the site construction. Through the USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan Program, the Berkshire Local Schools received a $28 million investment towards the construction of its new PreK-12 facility. The District’s new facility project holds the special distinction as the first-ever collaboration between the USDA and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), which oversees capital construction and renovation projects for the state’s public-school systems. The Berkshire Local Schools would like to thank the USDA for its ongoing commitment and support towards new educational opportunities for our students.
