The Sparkle Unit of the Berkshire Local Schools is busy once again with their efforts to creatively learn while helping the community. Earlier this month, the Sparkle students from Ledgemont Elementary baked dog treats, exposing themselves to following step-by-step recipe instructions that called for mixing ingredients together, rolling out the dough, forming shapes and then cutting out the treats. The items were then baked and packaged for delivery and distribution which took place at Ledgemont Elementary, Board of Education, Burton Elementary, and Berkshire High on Friday, March 13th. Money raised from dog treat orders will help to support community-based outings and activities for the Sparkle students. The Sparkle assignment to bake and sell dog treats helped to develop collaboration and communication, not only within the classroom, but throughout the District as well. Way to go Sparkle students!
