Architects Deliver Presentation on Final Design of New PreK-12 School at Recent Board Meeting

Architect Presentation of Final Facility Design

Representatives from architectural firm Holabird & Root delivered a public presentation regarding the final schematic design and site plan of the new Prek-12 facility at the most recent meeting of the Berkshire Local Schools Board of Education on Monday, July 8, 2019.  The presentation featured a 3-D animated rendering of the campus which will be separated into various wings or houses by grade level, so that PreK-elementary, Middle School and High School students will be exclusively taught in their own respective areas of the building.  Each wing will have separate access to shared common areas including the cafeteria, auditorium and gym.  Special features of the facility will include courtyard areas, nearby outdoor activity and athletic fields and a major focus on including natural lighting throughout.  The presentation also shared how the overall selection of materials, including three different colors of brick, were inspired by local architecture to reflect the civic and historic pride of the area.  Members of the Berkshire Local Schools community can view the full 3-D animated rendering of the new PreK-12 facility online.  Stay tuned for more exciting information regarding the construction process of the new PreK-12 campus.  Thank you for your continued support of the Berkshire Local Schools.
