Berkshire Students Participate in CVC Honors Band Performance

The 2012 CVC Honors Band was hosted by Wickliffe High School on April 26, 2012.
Berkshire High School was represented by Lindsay Porter, Cassy Cameron, Max Barber, Ryan Shaffer, Ben Vizy, and Jacob Brotman.
The guest conductor for the CVC Band was Dr. Brandt Payne. Dr. Payne is the director of Athletic Bands and Assistant Professor of Music for the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. At YSU, Dr. Payne directs the “Marching Pride” and conducts the concert band and university band. He also teaches courses in conducting, instrumental music education and graduate wind literature. Dr. Payne’s previous academic appointments include Associate Director of Bands at the University of Hawaii and Associate Director of Bands at the University of Wyoming.

This day-long event was a very educational experience for all the young musicians that had the opportunity to participate.
