We provided on-site training and a work session for teachers that are utilizing a technology system (Classroom Performance System, CPS) in their classrooms. The CPS system also referred to as ‘clickers’ provide teachers with supplemental instructional tools that are aligned with the state content standards. They system provides whole class participation in answering questions related to subject area content while providing the teachers with data to inform their instruction (i.e., the system calculates the number of students that got a certain question correct). The students actively participate through the use of hand held remote ‘clickers’ that allows them to choose the correct response.
This technological instructional tool enhances teaching and tracks student progress and performance overtime which assists teachers in assessing student levels of skills and content mastery as well as inform their instruction. This is one means by which we are continuing to address the integration of technology into our classrooms and to engage our students in the learning process.
