Accommodations for All Students

On December 14th, Mr. Mike Maglionico from the Geauga County
Education Service Center presented at the junior/senior high school
and Burton Elementary School on the topic of providing
accommodations to all students in the classroom. The presentation
provided teachers with strategies to implement to accommodate
student learning styles (e.g., visual, auditory) and instructional
and behavioral needs (e.g., preferential seating, directions
provided in multiple means; written and verbal). Mr. Maglionico
provided an overview of the topic and examples along with handouts
and resources (e.g., book titles) for teachers to access.
The presentation provided suggestions to teachers and also
reinforced to teachers that they are implementing many of the
strategies that were discussed. The presentations were informative
and beneficial.
