Seven Junior/Senior High Staff Attend Conference

Seven Junior/Senior High School Staff members attended the “Midwest Conference on Differentiated Instruction” on July 10 in Columbus, Ohio. Before leaving school in June, each staff member chose up to five sessions to attend from a list of 30 presenters and 200 sessions. Through SST Region 4 grant funds, the staff was able to have overnight accommodations and begin their sessions as early as 7:30am on Thursday morning and then continued the conference until 4:15pm. Each content area was represented to collect ideas and strategies for most effectively implementing Differentiated Instruction (DI) building wide. Attending faculty were: Jim Lester/Math, Carey Maske/Science, Ellen Edeburn/Social Studies, Nichole Hess/Language Arts, Mindy Cannella/ Special Education, Linda Stanley/Arts and Technology and Jennifer Sabol/Administration. The group enjoyed networking with approximately 1,300 other educators from across the country and is eager to share the information with the rest of the building and district!
