5th Grade Science Fair is a Hit!

BURTONELEMENTARY 5TH GRADE SCIENCE FAIR IS A BLAST!
Wednesday, April 23, in the Burton Elementary Gym, 5th grade students showed off their wonderful science projects to parents, friends, and community members. 8 judges were impressed that night: Mr. Jack Arnold, Mrs. Linda Baker, Deputy Roy Lundstrom, Mr. Nick Hall, Mr. Curt Johnson, Mr. Stuart Park, Mr. Brent Gardner, and Mayor Tom Blair. They were FABULOUS with the students and took plenty of time with each one. I so enjoyed watching the expressions of the kids while the judges talked with them and praised them! Wow! After they were done scoring the students, the judges had the difficult task of tallying and helping to decide the winners! This is always such a hardship because there are so many worthy projects and hard-working individuals!
Mr. Jim Knapp and Cindy Ducca had the honor of awarding the following students with their trophies and honorable mention ribbons:

FIRST PLACE: Bobby Durey
SECOND PLACE: Josiah Sawyer
THIRD PLACE: Sarah McClellan
