At Troy Elementary this week, a representative from LEGO, the popular building block company, visited our school to provide our students with a hands-on, interactive science lab assembly.
Each class had a session in which they worked in lab groups to construct working LEGO machines and vehicles. The students had to apply various science skills to the projects as well as reasoning skills, communication skills, and math skills. Students created racecars with circuitry, and aerodynamic design based on a LEGO car manual. After the students built their machines and vehicles they operated them and raced them. The students had a great time with this project and it was a beneficial way to apply skills to practice!
