Third Graders from Burton Elementary celebrated Valentine's Day by making an old fashioned valentine box for their cards. It was a contest that was optional. Everyone was a winner by having a beautiful box to collect valentines from their classmates. Special awards were given to several boxes. There was a "Nature's Best" that had a hunter's look with animals and evergreen trees. This was made by Dillon. Then there was the "Most Creative" where two friends, Sara and Cassidy, put their hearts together and made one beautiful heart box. Another box was "Dynamite" which was made by Denise. It was made out of different cups and a box to make it look like a dinosaur named "Try-love-a-lot". Jacob's race car box won the "Most Original" which was decked out with match box cars. The final winning box, made by Will, was "The Cutest". It had a wire heart with all kinds of sparkling hearts attached.
