On Tuesday, February 12, the kindergarten classes at Burton Elementary met in the gymnasium to celebrate the 100th day of school. Approximately 20 parents and grandparents volunteered to help the kindergarten team run stations for the morning.
The students rotated through nine stations. These stations included completing 100 gross motor activities (jumping, bouncing a ball, touching their toes, etc...), locating numbers 1-100 on a number chart, creating a snack of 100 items, and finding numbers on a number line. The students also created 100s Day badges, illustrated a page telling what they would do if they had 100 dollars, and played Chutes and Ladders, a counting game from 1-100. They completed the rotations with a story center, where they listened to two 100s day stories and a beanbag station, where they scored points and tried to get to 100.
Once again, this could not have happened without the support of our parents and grandparents who attended and those who sent in items to help us with all the activities. Thanks so much!
