Character bracelets made by Roots & Shoots members.

Character Bracelets on Sale Now!

by Mary Jo Maxwell

February 06, 2008

Roots & Shoots members recently met to make character bracelets.  The six pillars of character as determined by the Jane Goodall Institute, are represented by a different colored bead.  The wooden beads were strung onto leather cording.  The pillars are as follows:  Trustworthiness(blue), Respect(yellow), Responsibility(green), Fairness(orange), Caring(red), and Community(purple).  The students can help remember the pillars by remembering TRRFCC.

The students are selling the bracelets at both the Burton and Troy Elementary campuses.  The bracelets cost $2.00 and can be ordered from any Roots & Shoots member or by calling the school offices.  People interested in purchasing one are encouraged to call.  The money raised from this endeavor will be used to help Roots & Shoots members support the Berkshire Relay For Life.

The next Burton Campus Roots & Shoots meeting will be on February 15th, when members will decorate the gymnasium for the Family Valentine's Dance.
