Burton Elementary Teachers Engage in Teacher Led Professional Development

On Friday, January 25th Burton Elementary teachers engaged in an energetic, engaging staff development meeting about mathematics. Jill Trace, Tricia Lunardi, Kim Park and Janet Duns led the teachers in a variety of activities concerning the Everyday Mathematics Program (EDM). Jill, Tricia, Kim and Janet began with an overview of the agenda, a chalk talk activity and an open sort.
We had lively discussions about their thoughts and questions concerning the Everyday Math Program. The teachers set goals and objectives to improve math instruction and scores in the building. The staff enjoyed lunch and lottery tickets for those who participated!
