Following the recent utility outages of water and electricity that forced the closing of schools,  for a reason other than weather, Mr. Knapp and I want to bring more consistency to our policy of when our buses will run out of district.

There are two categories of closing:

UNSCHEDULED CLOSING OF ENTIRE BERKSHIRE DISTRICT:   Weather, utility failure of any type, building damage etc, there will be no busing to parochial or out of district locations even if your child’s school is open.

SCHEDULED CLOSING OF ENTIRE BERKSHIRE DISTRICT:  Our calendar shows us to be having a non student day (e.g.  January 25 or before Labor Day) but your student’s school is in session, then we will bus students as follows:

NDCL:              Bus leaves and returns to Berkshire HS parking lot: 

• Leave BHS                   7:15  AM              
• Return to BHS              2:55  PM                      

St Helens:         Bus leaves and returns to Berkshire HS parking lot:

• Leave BHS                     7:15  AM
• Return to BHS               2:25  PM

St. Mary in Chardon:

• Leave Arms Trucking     8:30AM          
• Students will be returned directly home.

Auburn:            Bus leaves and returns to BHS parking lot

•  Juniors              Leave from BHS        7:15 AM 
  • • •    Return to BHS   11:25 AM

•  Seniors              Leave from BHS      10:10 AM     
  • • •    Return to BHS      3:00 PM   (Cardinal Bus)

Special Education students, who attend out of district schools, will not be transported when the Berkshire District has an UNSCHEDULED CLOSING.
