Over seventy-five students and adults met in the Burton gymnasium Thursday, January 24th, to watch a recent release from Disney. The Gameplan, which was just released on Tuesday, was PTO's choice for family movie night.
Judging from the laughter heard coming from the gym, they scored a touchdown! The movie is based around a little girl who shows up at her dad's doorstep to spend a month while her mother is in Africa. Unfortunately dad, who is a star Boston quarterback, has no idea he even has a child! The mishaps they go through as they learn to love one another touched everyone.
In the end, this young girl makes the famous football player realize what his life has been missing all along. Students and parents alike loved the movie. One dad said he'd be going out to buy it soon, because it was actually one he could stand to watch over and over again!
PTO purchased a variety of snacks and Roots & Shoots members ran the concession stand. At the end of the evening, PTO donated all proceeds from the snack stand to Roots & Shoots. With the $48 they earned, they will be purchasing suckers for next week's "LET'S LICK CANCER!" fundraiser. Suckers will be .50 a piece. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.
