Berkshire Badgers Roots & Shoots
donates to Rescue Village
January 07, 2008
The Burton Elementary Roots & Shoots recently sold candy canes for two weeks before Christmas. They used this money to complete one of their service projects, caring for animal life. The group raised $326.04. They sold the candycanes, sorted them, then delivered them to the classrooms at the end of the day.
Students loved sending and receiving these tasty treats. Parents were able to preorder the canes throughout the sale and send them to their favorite students and teachers.
After school resumed from Christmas break, the Roots & Shoots officers took the check to Rescue Village. Staff at the rescue facility were impressed and thankful for the large donation.
Future activities for Roots & Shoots include: Meeting - January 22nd
Sponsorship of PTO Movie Night - January 24th
Sucker Sale for Relay for Life - Last week in January.
