NED Was At Troy Elementary School…

BY Gina Symsek

November 20, 2007

On November 19th, NED visited the students at Troy Elementary School.  It was an interactive assembly that involved yo-yo tricks with embedded positive messages about respect and how to treat others.  NED stands for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best.

The assembly was a school wide one for all grades 1-6.  The students had opportunities to actively participate in the program.  The presenter was enthusiastic and held the attention of the students while reinforcing the concepts of respect and the importance of making good choices related to one’s actions.

Thank you to our PTO for organizing and sponsoring this assembly.  Yo-yos will be for sale after lunch at school for the next week and students and teachers were provided with writing papers and other related activities to reinforce the anti-bullying messages from the assembly.  This assembly is yet another means by which we are working to actively encourage and maintain a positive and safe school environment!
