We had our annual fall spirit week the week of October 8th. It consisted of many fun activities and events that integrated instruction into the fun! Mrs. Sherman , our second grade teacher, and Mr. Kostiha, our sixth grade teacher, organized the week’s events and as always did a great and creative job!
The students participated in writing and art contests. The writing essay and creation of a badger from art materials was based on our school district mascot, Bernie Badger. Students had many original ideas and it was a great way to have fun with writing! The creation of the many art based badgers also yielded a lot of creativity. We have some great writers and artists among us!
Some of the other activities consisted of door decorating and purple and gold day. The week’s activities concluded with a pep assembly at the end of the day on Thursday. The students listened to essays and shared their artistic badgers. The pep assembly ended with recognition of all our students that participate in sports and/or music based activities. We encouraged them to wear their team uniforms and everyone cheered for each other. It was a good way to not only recognize the many talents of our students but a means by to integrate athletics and fine arts into the academic day!
In addition to our students participating in the pep assembly, some of the high school cheerleaders joined us to cheer on our students and provide extra school spirit! Thank you to them for joining us and supporting our elementary school students!
