October 13, 2007
Berkshire alumnus, Guy Humphrey, was named a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Ohio at Dayton. He was sworn in on October 2nd. He was selected for the court from a field of eighteen candidates. The new judge is a summa cum laude graduate of Kent State University and the Ohio State University College of Law.
While at Berkshire, he was the class of 1978 President and Salutatorian. He also went to the state wrestling meet.
He practiced law in Columbus after law school. He has been married for 25 years and has two sons and resides in Pickerington
His mom shared with me how proud she is not only of him but of the school. "It did a lot for him" she told me.
The Humphreys have a long tradition in Berkshire and in Burton before that, Guy's dad was in school when the new building (present HS) opened in 1936 as a 1-12 building and Guy's brother Mike was one of the first attendees at the Burton Elementary building.
Berkshire Schools have a tradition of excellence thanks to everyone who works together to make it happen.
