Two teachers from Berkshire Jr./Sr. High School, Jim Lester and Henry Hoover, were recently notified that they would each be receiving a $250 Grant Award from the Geauga County Retired Teachers Association. According to the letter of recognition submitted on behalf of the GCRTA to Superintendent John Stoddard, “the monetary award will help them create architectural building models (Jim) and improve high school geometry test scores (Henry) for their classrooms and students." In addition, both Berkshire Jr./Sr. High instructors have been invited to attend the annual Geauga County Retired Teachers Association annual picnic held each year in August so that they can share more about the project details with the participants at this yearly event. The Berkshire Local Schools extends its gratitude to the Geauga County Retired Teachers Association for their interest and grantmaking that will help make two our local teachers improve their classroom experience for students.
