In an amazing demonstration of support and the intended cultivation of the future workforce of our local community, more than 70 businesses and organizations attended the Geauga County Jobs Fair hosted in the Berkshire Jr./Sr. gymnasium on Thursday, April 11, 2019. This overwhelming number of businesses in attendance at this Jobs Fair is the most that the Ohio Means Jobs organization, who sponsored and promoted the event, has seen at any similarly hosted event to date. Berkshire High School students had the opportunity to walk into a virtual hub of job and internship opportunities, meet and engage with employers and entities who are seeking help during afterschool hours or over the summer. Businesses that featured a red-colored balloon at their booth signified available internship opportunities. The Armed Services recruiters featured a red, white and blue balloons to attract students seeking opportunities to serve our country. The Berkshire Local Schools would like to thank the Ohio Means Jobs organization for their help, support and promotion of this event as well as each and every business or entity which participated as well. Preparing students with future-ready skills is a top priority of the District and we express our collective gratitude to everyone involved who made this event successful.
